TEGA CAY, S.C. - Led by a top-ten finish by sophomore Mary Beth McKenna, the Xavier women's golf team recorded a sixth-place finish at the Shamrock Intercollegiate, played at the 5,969 yard, par-72 Tega Cay G.C. The result is Xavier's best since their 6th place finish at the Nittany Lion Invitational on Oct. 1 of last fall. Murray State edged Princeton by one stroke to claim the team title at 71-over par (935). Princeton's Susannah Aboff carded a second-round 69 on the way to her first place finish at five-over. Freshman Audrey Fellmeth shaved four strokes off her second round total to card an 80 in the closing round, leaving her in a tie for 19th at 26-over. Senior Diana Torry and freshman Rachel Levi struggled in the final round, with Torry dropping to a tie for 34th place (+34) and Levi concluding her tournament a stroke behind in a tie for 38th (+35). Junior Lindsay Cornell opened the event with rounds of 81 and 85 but was forced to withdraw due to health concerns.
