CINCINNATI - The Xavier men's soccer team escaped with a 3-2 victory over Wright State on Friday, February 29 at the Xavier University Soccer Complex. Three separate Musketeers's notched goals in the win, with Xavier taking a 3-0 lead into halftime and never looking back.

Freshman Brandon Bucher led off the attack for the Musketeers with a right-footed blast high and to the near post to give Xavier an early 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute. Junior Jimmy Cummings followed Bucher shortly after with a goal of his own in the 34th minute. Ricardo Sutherland finished off the attack with a goal in the 42nd minute on a pass from Mason Kelly.

Ryan Engelmann and Joe Diederich split time in goal with Engelmann allowing no goals in the first half. Diederich allowed two scores in the second portion of the match. The Musketeers will be in action again on Sunday, March 30 when they take on the Buckeyes of Ohio State. The game is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Springboro High School.
