Track Has Record Breaking Weekend at Eastern Kentucky and All-Ohio Championships

CINCINNATI - The Xavier University men's and women's track teams competed Friday and Saturday at the Eastern Kentucky Invitational in Richmond, Ky. and the All-Ohio Championships hosted by the University of Cincinnati. Eight school records were broken including seven at the All-Ohio Championships.

 

Junior Clinton Womack set a new school record in the 400-meter race in 50.73 at the Eastern Kentucky Invitational. Womack also had a standout performance in the 800-meter run at the All-Ohio Championships taking 4th in 1:55.20. Senior Ben Milroy earned runner-up honors in the 10,000-meter run in a school-record time of 31:15.06 while Luke Beuerlein took his place in the record books in the 1,500 in 3:58.08. Beuerlein also placed 7th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:28.55. Freshman Ryan Ulmer broke his own school-record in the 200, reestablishing it at 22.99.

 

Ulmer also led the 4x400-meter relay team that brought home a record in 3:23.08. Following Ulmer were freshman Sam Lewis and Ben Nathan. Womack ran the final leg of the relay.


 

 

 

On the women's side Danna Deans set a new school-record in the 100-meter run in 13.26 and tied her own record in the 200-meter run in 27.49. Junior Becky Clark established a record in the 800 finishing in 2:16.72. Bethany Moore recorded an impressive 4:50.97 in the 1,500-meter run taking 14th.

 

XU will return to action in two weeks when they compete at the Atlantic 10 Championships on May 3 and 4. The meet is in Amherst, Mass. and is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
